Angelique is a beautiful cream colored female Whippet that was born in October of xxxx. She is a wonderful girl that is need of the perfect home due a pending divorce and the current sale of the family's home. Angie gets along with children, dogs, cats, rabbits and even a house bird (cockatiel) that was her best buddy! Not a typical sighthound regarding the small house pets. :-) We feel that Ang would be best in a home with the company of another dog--as she currently lives with two Dachshunds and loves them dearly. She is a typical whippet who loves to lounge on the furniture and covers herself up with a blanket too! Ang is the type of dog that has kenneling issues & cannot be crated as she has severe anxiety and will become completely stressed to the point of injury. So, if you plan to vacation, boarding her at a kennel or vets office isn't an option for her & a pet sitter coming into the home would be best. Unfortunately, a few years ago when Angie was taken to the vet requiring her vaccines she ended up having a serious allergic reaction to the Canine Influenza shot which developed a condition referred as Vasculitis. The condition is now under control with the use of a medicene that she takes 3 times a day. The cost of the medicene is less than $20 dollars a month. With this, Angie will never be able to be vaccinated again (which also includes the rabies vaccine). A letter can be obtained from the current vet supporting this documentation. Fortunately, there have been no issues with this, but you just have to be careful with potentially exposing her to dogs that may not be vaccinated, such as places like a dog park or visits to the pet store etc. Angelique also loves to go for walks--especially on nice, sunny days. She is currently with her owners and at this time is being posted as a referral. The volunteer that is assisting with her placement is also a representative with the WRAP-Whippet Rescue And Placment organization. Together both groups (IDR+ & WRAP) are actively searching to help find the right home for Angelique. She is a very special girl who deserves the best, forever home.
