Rummy is a beautiful 3-year-old Doberman with the most loving brown eyes and a very handsome face. He was given up at a local animal shelter because the owners stated they have job changes and they would be gone for 16 hours. Rummy is currently in a foster home living with two female Dobermans and Chihuahuas and gets along with everyone. His nub tail is non-stop wagging! He is the happiest boy I have ever fostered. He came in somewhat skinny but is now eating the appropriate amount of good food to put the weight back on him. When he does fill out he will be a very handsome big boy. Rummy loves to walk around with a "stuffie" in his mouth and takes it to bed with him. He is crate trained, but in his foster home he is in a bedroom behind a baby gate, which he does respect. Rummy is fully housebroken; he goes out to do his business and knows when he is called to come back in. I do have a pet sitter who comes every day to let the kids out, so he can handle a regular workday. He does love to play in the yard with his Doberman friends. Working with him on a leash by using a prong collar keeps him in check, and he is doing great. He does not need to be crated or confined in a car. He just loves to be petted and scratched behind his ears. He is one loving and dedicated boy. I would really want him to start beginner?s obedience class to learn basic commands, which he was never taught. He does not appear to be a counter surfer or specialist in checking out the garbage can and does not jump up on people. I can't say enough about this big boy other than he will make any family very happy to bring them into their lives.
